Real Wedding: O & D

A full circle moment; a while back, Olivia and Dan used to work for us here at Wild Fork. So naturally, when their enquiry appeared in our inbox we were rather delighted. Even more so as their ideas snowballed into the most wonderful DIY style marquee wedding, brimming with personal touches. You might have noticed by now that we’re a little mad about marquee weddings. The chance to inject your essence into every aspect, a marquee wedding gives you a blank canvas for your wedding day.

Enjoy reading through this joyous day, with images from the very talented H F P Photography.

From the minute the alarms went off, there was style in every detail. Matching bridesmaid pyjamas with piping and feather detail, and fashionable coupes for sipping that first glass of fizz.

We loved the countryside charm woven throughout the day, with beautiful illustrations of the church and the Land Rover Defender wedding car.

Bright pops of pink framed by subtle pastel hues. The bouquets featured peachy dahlias, soft blue cornflowers and white cosmos, but the bridesmaid dresses were the most brilliant flash of pink. This contrast was stunning, doesn’t Olivia’s bride tribe look stunning?

And then, the stars of the show. Oh so classy, Olivia and Dan looked like a movie star couple in the fields! No one was missing the sunshine with these two beaming. We loved everything about Olivia’s look, down to her ultra glam earrings and soft blue ribbon to tie in with her maids.

Into the marquee, and the high level of detail certainly did NOT stop. Illustrated table names, beautifully bold candles tied up with ballet-core ribbons and an array of colourful stems. Olivia and Dan’s long banquet style tables were dressed as impeccably as they were!

I suppose we should talk about food… it’s very easy to get caught up in this beautiful day! August calls for colour, and this menu began with a bright array of delicious canapés. Padron peppers, courgette with feta and mint and smoked salmon with caviar to name just a few. An oyster shucker joined us for the drinks reception, with the most enticing display served from a rustic wooden ice trough!

Once guests were suitably hydrated they headed into the marquee for a banquet! Long tables are the perfect setting for sharing style wedding food, and Olivia and Daniel worked with us to produce a bespoke menu for their guests. A selection of Middle Eastern style dips and snacks started things off, including Andy’s Za’atar and rapeseed focaccia.

For the main event, Olivia and Dan wanted guests to have a vast choice of main options to get stuck into. Guests enjoyed hanger steaks with chimichurri, salmon with sauce vierge and cauliflower shawarma with a selection of summer side dishes.

Dessert ended things on a lighter note - lemon tart with mascarpone and raspberries. Arguably, one of the best summer puds!

Olivia and Daniel, thank you for letting us be a part of your day and for letting us share your gorgeous images with our readers. Let’s do it all again for an anniversary party?
